POETRY:
3 POEMS

BY JULIAN JASON HALADYN

Medieval Weaponry

Her eyes are closed and I cannot stop thinking
white fences delicately lined with Medieval weaponry

the frame is all rusty but reality is without colour
quietly the birds wait for battle

Nailing Down Other Histories

Crucified they say
all manner of unwanted
lands that should be prosperous
rich vegetation and the like
cleared of culture and people
bodies that become the land
set to the tune of foreign language

Polish Typewriter

So many nights patiently
typing away at that Polish typewriter
the one my grandfather brought with him to Canada
packed in an old suitcase

along with several large Napoleon sculptures
one broke on the way over the ocean
